How To Select A Designer T-Shirt

There are hundreds of designer clothing brands on the market in the UK today, so when looking to buy a designer t-shirt, how do you know which one to buy. The aim of this article is to guide you through the process of selecting a t-shirt which is right for you.

 

Step 1 – Determine Your Budget

The first thing you need to do is decide how much you are willing, and able, to spend on your new designer t-shirt. Prices vary greatly between brands but if you have no idea of what a designer t-shirt costs, you can look on a price comparison website or on a couple of online clothing retailer’s sites to get an idea of the price range that designer t-shirts are sold for.

 

Step 2 – Research Your Brand

Once you have determined how much you are planning to spend on a designer t-shirt, you need to think about which brand of t-shirt you want to own. In order to determine which brand of t-shirt you want to buy, it’s worth doing a bit of research into the brand itself. If you want to buy British, you may wish to research where the brand is based and its origins. If you prefer family owned brands instead of corporate brands, research will determine which category the brand falls into. You may also wish to have a look at the ethics of the brand to see where and how their t-shirts are manufactured.

 

Step 3 – Select Your Brand

By now, you should have a better idea of the brand of designer t-shirt you want to buy. The next step in the process is to have a look at the general style and theme of the brands. For example a brand such as Duck & Cover are renowned for designing traditional pieces with a quirky, modern slant on style. This means that the pieces are practical whilst being edgy in their look. The general themes that you are likely to come across include military, urban, modern, edgy, crisp, clean, industrial, utility and street style to name just a few. You are likely to have a rough idea of what style you are after based on what is currently in fashion and what styles your wardrobe comprises of.

 

Step 4 – Select Your Style

Hopefully by now, you should have a clear idea of what brand, or possibly brands you would like to buy a designer t-shirt from. Now comes the crucial part – selecting the actual t-shirt. This involves a lot of browsing of styles, either in store or online to find a t-shirt you like. At this stage, you may wish to consider a number of specific details:

• The colour of the t-shirt. Will it co-ordinate with other items in your wardrobe? Is it a classic colour that can be worn season after season or a very in-trend colour that will date? Does the colour suit your skin tone and hair colour?
• The pattern, slogan and design of the t-shirt. Does it have features that you like? Does the style meet your unique look? Will it co-ordinate with other items in your wardrobe?
• The fit of the t-shirt. Is it cut in a way that will flatter your body shape? Is it fitted in a traditional way or a more in-trend way?
• The size of the t-shirt. Does it come in your size? Plus remember to check your usual size against the brand’s measurements. A medium size from Duck & Cover t shirts for example, might be slightly different from another brand.

 

Step 5 – Buy Your Designer T-shirt

So now that you’ve found the t-shirt you want, it’s often beneficial to have a look round at where it can be purchased as prices are likely to differ slightly. The easiest way of doing this is to look online as you can use a search engine to enter the brand name and style name of the t-shirt you want. You will then be able to compare prices, delivery charges and delivery times to find the best deal for you.
